MESSAGE FROM VILLAGE MANAGER ROBERT M. BAHAN
On March 10, 2019, the Village of Winnetka marked our 150th anniversary as a Village. 2019 will be a year to honor and celebrate the people, places and progress that make Winnetka what it is today. Winnetka has a unique and celebrated history and we invite our residents and businesses to honor our past, while looking confidently to our collective future.
Our Village staff remains strongly committed to serving our community by providing high quality services, strong public safety and strategic infrastructure investments, continuing that same commitment since our incorporation in 1869. In 2015, our Village celebrated 100 years of being organized as a Council-Manager form of government, one of the first municipalities in the state and nation to do so. This is another hallmark of our long history and commitment to professional local government.
We have worked with our community partners to bring our residents a year of celebratory opportunities around this momentous anniversary. Some events will be expanded familiar traditions and others will be new ways to gather with your family, friends, neighbors, and businesses. Please join our community and be part of the “People, Places and Progress” slated for 2019.
